              Series forms part of Chezzetcook Historical Society fonds and consists of records of the Society's financial transactions, including receipts, accounts, budgets, reports, chequebooks, and bankbooks. Series also includes tax forms and legal documents relating to the Society's legal status as a tax-free charity, as well as correspondence and certificates relating to the Society's membership in associations such as the Federation of Museums, Heritage and Historical Societies of Nova Scotia (later known as the Federation of Nova Scotian Heritage) and the Heritage Trust of Nova Scotia. In addition, series includes forms, correspondence and other records related to applications by the Society for government grants.

              Frieze and Roy fonds

              The fonds consists mainly of general business correspondence and financial records recording the financial affairs of the business. The fonds also consist of legal records, mainly indentures and insurance policies for the business, sales and operations records and vessel records, which mainly consist of insurance policies, charter parties and protests. Also included in the fonds are records belonging to the Frieze family such as estate papers, and records from David Frieze's time as a justice if the peace for Hants County, along with electoral records and records belonging to the Maitland Presbyterian church, Sons of Temporance and Maitland school which both Frieze and Roy were involved in.               Dominion Chair Company fonds

              The fonds consists of architectural plans, Bass River picnic files, correspondence and invoices, counter books, customer and employee records, export papers, interest books, journals, ledgers, legal documents, merchandise invoices, photographs, printed materials, reports and shareholder papers, sales books/journals, sales invoice copy books, statement books, and stock inventories, spanning over 100 years from 1870 to 1975. These materials illustrate accounting methods, the production of and market for chairs, shipping processes, relationships with other companies and the community, etc. The majority of the fonds consists of correspondence and invoices, both to and from Dominion Chair, including orders for company goods, for factory equipment, and items to stock the general store. Together the items are useful in understanding the organizational structure, management, and operations of the Dominion Chair Company, and provide insight into business operations in Nova Scotia throughout the late 19th and 20th centuries.               Alfred Dickie fonds

              This fonds consists of records which document the personal and business activities and interests of Alfred Dickie and, to a lesser extent, those of his immediate family and employees. Although the records span Dickie’s lifetime, few relate to his childhood, education, or final two years of life. Some items, in particular those concerning his export lumber business or his travels, derive from various places in North and South America, the Caribbean, Europe, and South Africa, though by far the majority are found to be located within Nova Scotia. The fonds includes correspondence, business and administrative records, speeches, photographs, legal documents, and plans, among other materials. Records are chiefly in English, although a very small portion are in French, Norwegian, Finnish, Spanish, and Italian. MS-4-64
