Biographical history
Al Kingsbury was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, 20 December 1938. He worked as a compositor for the Halifax Herald for 18 years. In 1980 he was transferred to the Editorial Department and was named Bureau Chief of the Valley Bureau, with responsibility for all news gathering, features, etc., for the Annapolis Valley, from Windsor to Digby. Kingsbury retired in 1994.
Custodial history
In 1996 Al Kingsbury donated part of his collection to the Historic Restoration Society of Annapolis County and part to the Kings County Court House Museum.
Scope and content
Fonds consists of images taken by Kingsbury for the Halifax Herald. The photographs contain people, places and events of Annapolis County, Nova Scotia.
