Biographical history
Alexander MacDonald (1841 – ?) served as Deputy Land Surveyor for the County of Antigonish for a number of years. Born in James River, he was the son of Duncan ‘Ban’ MacDonald and Lydia Kell; he was unmarried, but had several brothers, sisters and large extended family.
Custodial history
The volume was donated to the Heritage Association of Antigonish by Mrs Muriel MacDonald, whose husband Douglas had the book in his possession for several years.
Scope and content
Fonds consists of one hardcover Log Book featuring 24 survey plans around Antigonish County including Springfield, Georgeville, Cape George, Keppoch, Ohio, Bayfield and more.
