Biographical history

Allan James Chapman was born 4 June 1932 in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. His parents were Annie Marguerite (Daisy) Chapman and Sidney Chapman. He served as a RCMP office from 1951-1980 and was married to Joan Chapman, with whom he had three children, Jean Ann, Andrew and Glen. He died in Ottawa, Ontario, on 4 September 2005.

Custodial history

Records were donated to the Dalhousie University Archives by Allan James Chapman in three accessions in July 1997, August 1997, and September 1997.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of Allan James Chapman's family history, including an account of the Halifax Explosion written by his mother Annie Marguerite (Daisy) Chapman, and his grandfather Herbert Eugene Greenough's poems and essays about working on the Nova Scotia railways.
