Biographical history
Anthony Thickpenny was born in England in 1736. A former officer in the British Army, he settled in Chester, Nova Scotia, where he became a well-known citizen. He was married to Elizabeth Ann Thickpenny (maiden name unknown). The couple had one child, Ann Nancy. Anthony Thickpenny died in 1824.
Custodial history
The plan was found in the Mahone Bay Museum’s backlog in 2017 and was processed in 2018.
Scope and content
Fonds consists of a survey of islands in Mahone Bay in 1772, identifying the properties of Anthony Thickpenny and Edward Thomas.
