Scope and content
Fonds consists of minutes; township books; reports to General Sessions of the Peace; land records; financial records; records of town officers; correspondence; petitions; road and bridge records; overseers of the poor records; public health records; militia records; fire prevention records; animal control records; election records; fisheries records; and provincial and federal legislation. Due to previous archival arrangement, it was decided to maintain the township records in a fonds separate from the records of the Municipality of the District of Argyle.
Some records are fragile, handle with care.

Reproduction by permission only. Researchers are encouraged to use the transcriptions of the township books. Credit must be given to the Argyle Township Court House Archives when material from this fonds is used.
