    Biographical history

    Arthur P. Monahan earned a B.A., M.A. and a PhD from the University of Toronto. He also earned a L.M.S. at the Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies. He spent most of his career at Saint Mary's University, Halifax, N.S. where he was Professor of Philosophy (1960-1993); Chair of the Philosophy Department (1965-1967, 1976-1980, acting 1985-1986), and Professor Emeritus (1993-). He also served with a number of SMU organizations: Senate (1970-1981), Board of Governors (1970-1981), was involved with the Faculty Association (1970-1978), and Arts Faculty Council (1975-1980, 1985-1988). Monahan retired from SMU in 1993.

    Custodial history

    Records were held in Dr. Monahan's office until 1993 before being donated to the Archives.
