Name of creator
The Basinview Lakeville Area was formed in 1972 when the larger Halifax Area was seperated from Halifax West and Dartmouth. The name evolved to become Basin Lakeville. There were four divisions. Cummins Division included the districts of Cruikshank and Beaverbank. Sackville Division included Nordic and Caudle Park districts. Christie Division encompasses the Bedford, Hammonds Plains and Lake districts. Finally, Basinview Division consisted of three districts, Fairview, Clayton Park, and Rockingham-Birch Cove. These Divisions remained unchanged until November 8, 1979 when the Carter and Fraser Areas were formed.
Custodial history is unknown.
