        Benajmin LeBlanc & Company was operated by Benjamin LeBlanc, of Plymouth, Yarmouth County, N.S., who was a shipbuilder, ship owner and merchant. He was born in 1856, son of Jean Mandé, a local merchant, and Rosalie Léonice d'Entremont LeBlanc. In 1870, he married Therese Pothier. They had 10 children. Benjamin and his father were involved in the coastal fishing trade and sold locally caught fish out of their Wedgeport store. Jean Mandé LeBlanc died in 1887, and Benjamin assumed full responsibility for the family business. Benjamin also owned shares in several schooners. He died in 1944.
