    Administrative history

The Blanche Forbes Garden Club was founded at Tatamagouche, Colchester County, Nova Scotia in 1950, named for local resident and well known gardener, Blanche Forbes. Prior to the club, annual garden shows were held in the community to raise money to be used to improve the appearance of the village cemetery. After numerous successful annual garden shows, a group of local women decided to form a club which met annually to discuss gardening and to host garden shows. They were also given a plot of land in the village to tend and were charged with the care of McCully's Spring. The club dissolved in 1993.
