              Fonds includes papers pertaining to an arbitration between the Civil Service Commission of Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Government Employees Association. The papers include correspondence, research materials, research notes, and submissions to the arbitration board. Fonds also contains general files regarding the Canadian Association for Adult Education, Canadian Labour Congress, and the Institute of Public Affairs. These files contain correspondence from the Canadian Association for Adult Education to participating institutions about a 1977 survey of labour education programs in postsecondary institutions. Fonds also contains correspondence from the Canadian Labour Congress to Gregory Kealey, along with notes that Gregory Kealey wrote about the correspondence. These files also include reports issued by the Institute of Public Affairs titled, "Nova Scotia Joint Labour-Management Study Conference", and "Identification of Internal Development Factors in Nova Scotia: A Comparative Analysis".               The records in this collection deal primarily with the energy sector, and, more specifically, hydroelectric power. Many records detail the company's attempts to start a hydroelectric project on the Bay of Fundy. Some records pertain to projects in the rest of Canada and generally to Harza itself. MS-4-253

              This fonds consists of documents illustrating the diverse interests of James Edward Dickie and his family. While nearly all of the records date from the ownership of the Stewiacke general store by James E. Dickie and his son Edwin, the fonds does contain one letter-book from 1924, when James R. Fulton managed the store. This fonds consists of documents which fall into three main categories: business records related to the companies owned by the Dickies; correspondence which contains a mixture of both personal and business records; as well as the personal records of the Dickie family. The fonds contains the following series: General Store (J.E. Dickie and Company; J.E. Dickie and Son; Edwin Dickie); Lumber Company (Dickie and Company); Nova Scotia Telephone Company; Stewiacke Valley and Lansdowne Railroad; Letters and Communications; James Edward Dickie; Harriet Tupper (Mrs. James E.               The La Have Outfitting Company fonds contains mainly financial records related to their business of outfitting and supplying vessels, as well as sales of fish, coal and salt between the years of 1905-1976. These records include invoices cash books, fish sales, journals, ledgers, vessel supply lists, accounts and lists of vessels that were insured by La Have Outfitting, as well as loans they had given out. The fonds also contains some general business correspondence, legal documents regarding insurance policies and shareholders information as well as documents relating to vessels, such as charter contracts, log books and register of vessels.
