Zone de description
The Catholic Mutual Benefit Association of Canada was founded at Windsor, Ontario on 10 February 1880. By 1890, six branches of the Catholic Mutual Benefit Association had been established in Nova Scotia: Belliveau's Cove, Church Point, Meteghan, Yarmouth, West Pubnico and East Pubnico. The association was created to provide a life insurance mutual benefit and reserve fund for its members, as well as to educate and improve the members' social, intellectual and moral condition. In order to become a member, the person had to be a male between the ages of 18 and 50, be a practicing Catholic, belong to a parish, and pass a physical examination.
