Celtic Music Interpretive Centre
The Celtic Music Interpretive Centre (CMIC) collects, preserves and promotes the traditional Celtic music of Cape Breton Island through education, research and performance. Since 1999, CMIC has been collecting and archiving materials of significance relating to the music, culture and Gaelic language across Cape Breton Island. CMIC was designated the official cultural archives for the County of Inverness in 2009.
CMIC's Archival holdings include audio cassettes, 33, 45 & 78 Records, Reel to Reels, Videos, Photographs, Music and Song books, Local literature, and ephemera relating to the sound and sights of Cape Breton's Celtic and Gaelic music traditions.
