              Sub-series forms part of history and heritage activities series of the Helen Jennex fonds and consists of original illustrations of historical Eastern Shore tools and fishing techniques. The illustrations have captions and were probably used in displays put on by Helen Jennex and/or other members of the Marine Highway Historical Society and Fisherman’s House Museum. Sub-series also includes two original watercolours, one of Devil’s Oven, Clam Harbour, and one of Clam Harbour Beach. The watercolours are signed “W.R. Symons” and are dated to 1958.               Sub-series forms part of history and heritage activities series of the Helen Jennex fonds and consists of records relating to research undertaken by Helen Jennex and possibly others into local history and events in the Eastern Shore. Sub-series contains two booklets, one describing the history of the Clam Harbour Church and one, written by Jennex, describing the history of the West Jeddore School. Sub-series also contains clippings relating to local events and people. Accession number 2009.039

              Fonds consists of correspondence written to Walter, Hannah, and Laura Stoddard as well as records related to churches and church societies and memorabilia related to the First World War that was found in the Stoddard Hotel. Fonds also contains financial records including insurance policies and tax receipts as well as post office records including ledgers of records of registered mail. Remaining records include permits, dance step instructions, quilt patterns, paintings by Harold Brownhill, a poem by Burns Marks, a label from E. Homan’s clam cannery, a brochure for a Camp Charlotte, a sign erected by the Cranberry Committee, and a business card and photograph of Judge F. M. Morson. Accession number 2013.010

              Series forms part of the E. J. Webber fonds and consists of records relating to E. J. Webber and his wife Marguerite Lillias “Babe” Webber’s activities while sharing her duties as postmistress of Lake Charlotte, Halifax County, Nova Scotia. Series includes forms requesting the Lake Charlotte postmistress to deliver mail to rural mailboxes. Each form includes the date of the request, the name on the mail box, the location of the mail box, the names of other people who will use the box, and the post office currently serving the requestor. Although Marguerite held the official title of postmistress, forms are addressed either to E. J. Webber or simply to the Lake Charlotte Postmaster (the forms themselves use the generic term ‘Postmaster’ rather than ‘Postmistress’). The names of the post offices entered include Owls Head, Clam Harbour, Clam Bay, Lake Charlotte, DeBaies Cove, Lower Ship Harbour and Ship Harbour. Some of the forms have notes to the postmaster written on or attached to them.

              Series forms part of the William Ansell Gaetz family fonds and consists primarily of the records of the Musquodoboit Harbour United Church including financial records, minutes of meetings of the board of trustees, and documents pertaining to religious education. Also includes a photograph of the church in Clam Harbour.

              Fonds consists of financial records belonging to William Gaetz including insurance papers, receipts, correspondence, documents related to the estate of Josephine Gaetz, and military pension information. Also included are records related to Gaetz’s time spent serving in WWI, correspondence with soldiers during WWII, records related to Gaetz’s membership in the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and the Musquodoboit Harbour United Church for which Gaetz acted as treasurer. Church records include financial papers and correspondence, account books, receipts, religious education material, meeting minutes, photographs, insurance documents, and other material. Fonds also includes records pertaining to electoral districts and voters as Gaetz was one of the revisors of the voter lists for his district. In addition, fonds includes lists of officers of the Musquodoboit Harbour Volunteer Fire Department and other material. Accession number 2012.001

              Part of Wallace Russell fonds
              Series consists of eight receipts belonging to Wallace Russell that include purchases made at Parker’s General Store in Owl’s Head and John M. Homans General Store in Clam Harbour between 1944 and 1953. Also includes three receipts for product (likely lobster) sold on account of Wallace Russell by Nickerson and Hyde Commission Merchants in Boston in 1944. Two of the latter receipts have letters written on the back from Maurice Nickerson to Wallace Russell regarding lobster sales. Series also includes one private receiving station license from the Department of Transport—Telecommunications Division for Wallace Russell dated 1951-1952. S1
