              Fonds consists of minutes; township books; reports to General Sessions of the Peace; land records; financial records; records of town officers; correspondence; petitions; road and bridge records; overseers of the poor records; public health records; militia records; fire prevention records; animal control records; election records; fisheries records; and provincial and federal legislation. Due to previous archival arrangement, it was decided to maintain the township records in a fonds separate from the records of the Municipality of the District of Argyle.

              Part of William Ansell Gaetz family fonds
              Series forms part of the William Ansell Gaetz family fonds and consists of electoral district records, primarily concerning districts 17 and18, which feature revised lists of voters including those stricken due to death or removal as well as new voters to be added to the lists. The records also consist of correspondence between Gaetz and the Municipal Clerk and Treasurer regarding Gaetz’s duties as a revisor. Also included are preliminary lists of qualified electors for 1934, 1937, and 1940. The records from 1934 and 1940 were created by William Gaetz, who is listed as a revisor. Series also includes a list of electors from Division No. 25 dated 1974 that states the names and occupations of voters. There is also one registration card belonging to Josephine Gaetz dated 1940.

              Lena Ferguson fonds

              Fonds consists of approximately 137 hours of oral history interviews conducted by Lena Ferguson. Most interviewees were residents of the Eastern Shore region of Halifax County, particularly the Chezzetcook area. Interview topics include genealogy, local industries, occupations, music, shipping, community life, traditions, and folklore. In addition to interviews, the creator recorded school reunions, concerts, weddings, and church anniversaries. Several paper transcripts are included as well as scrapbooks featuring articles written by Lena and other newspaper articles regarding the Chezzetcook area. 2019.014
              Stewart Family fonds

              Fonds is arranged in the following series: 1) Accounts Ledgers, 2) Voters and Voting, 3) Miscellaneous. Fonds consist of records relating to the business and farming activities of the Stewart family, predominantly Harry E. Stewart, owners and operators of Eleven Mile House located near the forks of the St. Mary's River in Melrose, Guysborough County. Eleven Mile House was an historic inn and coach stop from which the Stewart family also ran a store and offered postal services. The family also farmed. The house was called Eleven Mile House because it was located eleven miles from Sherbrooke on the Antigonish to Sherbrooke road. Fonds consist of the Stewart Family's business account ledgers that list the names of numerous Melrose and area residents and companies and goods and services purchased, payments made by either cash or in-kind labour, lodging and meals (ca. 1867-1934). Ledgers also describe work done by local community members for Harry E. Stewart at the house or on the farm or in the woods, as well as the family's seasonal farming activities. Fonds include voters lists and voting information for the provincial polling districts of Glenelg (no. 10) and Caledonia (no. 13) relating to Harry E. Stewart's role as reviser of voting lists, as well as Nova Scotia Franchise Act booklets and the Handbook for Liberal-Conservative Committeemen on Naturalization Assessment and Revision of the Voters' Lists (1907-1916). Fonds also include miscellaneous records relating to the Stewart family and Eleven Mile House including a telephone directory (1922), book of mails sent from Melrose post office (October 1872 to June 1876), and a school drawing belonging to Katie Stewart, daughter of Harry E.               Fonds consists of financial records belonging to William Gaetz including insurance papers, receipts, correspondence, documents related to the estate of Josephine Gaetz, and military pension information. Also included are records related to Gaetz’s time spent serving in WWI, correspondence with soldiers during WWII, records related to Gaetz’s membership in the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and the Musquodoboit Harbour United Church for which Gaetz acted as treasurer. Church records include financial papers and correspondence, account books, receipts, religious education material, meeting minutes, photographs, insurance documents, and other material. Fonds also includes records pertaining to electoral districts and voters as Gaetz was one of the revisors of the voter lists for his district. In addition, fonds includes lists of officers of the Musquodoboit Harbour Volunteer Fire Department and other material. Accession number 2012.001
