The Psychology Department is part of the Faculty of Science at Saint Mary's University. It became a formal department within the Faculty of Science in 1966, with the appointment of its first Chair, M. Strobel.
Currently, the Department offers a broad range of coursers and programs designed to meet the needs of students from various backgrounds with an interest in psychology. The Departments offers an area of concentration for the general Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees, a major and honours for both, and a program of study to a Master of Science degree in Applied Psychology and a Doctor of Psychology in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.

Fonds consists of material relating to the operations of the Department of Psychology. It includes correspondence (including departmental, with committees, deans, and University administration), course outlines and syllabi, records of procedure, and materials relating to the history of the Department.
