Administrative history
In 1862, Allison Copeland was appointed commissioner of sewers for the Fulton Marsh Body, marsh lot 27, in the Township of Amherst, Nova Scotia. In 1871, Matthew Logan was appointed clerk to the Commissioner. The marsh was owned by a group of farmers which varied over time and jointly paid for repairs and maintenance of the dykes, sluices, and aboiteau which kept the marsh land dry and useable.
