Biographical history
Geoff D. Pilborough was born in the Sub-District of South East Ham, District West Ham, London. He spent several years in the Royal Air Force Marine Craft Section in the UK and postings overseas. He has authored a two volume book entitled The Royal Canadian Air Force Marine Squadrons. The book was published in 1996 by Canimpex Publishing. As of March 1999 Mr. Pilborough is a resident of Edmonton, Alberta.
Custodial history
Geoff D. Pilborough collected the records from several sources, including Tom H. Smith and John N. Dyment. The material was used to write his book, The Royal Canadian Air Force Marine Squadrons. He donated the material to the Shearwater Aviation Museum in October 1998.
Scope and content
Fonds consists of correspondence, photographs, and some published material. The fonds contains records relating to the Royal Canadian Air Force Marine Squadrons which include five files: the George Irwin photo albums, John "Red" N. Dyment correspondence, Canadian Marine Squadrons notes and articles, Canadian Marine Squadrons photographs, and Thomas H. Smith records.
