Biographical history
John L. Peppard was born at Fredericton, New Brunswick in 1840, the son of John and Sarah (Davis) Peppard. He became a medical doctor in the Londonderry area of Colchester County, Nova Scotia. He resided at Derr Farm, Great Village. Peppard married three times during his life and had a total of eight children. He died in 1907 when he accidently poisioned himself.

Scope and content
Original reproduction certificate issued to J. L. Peppard. Certifies that he "...is raised to Degree of Master Mason in the Lodge Cobequid No. 37. Given at Masonic Hall, Halifax this 10th day of February in the year of our Lord 1872 and of Light 5872." English text is displayed on the left hand side of the certificate - Latin translation is on the right.
