Administrative history

The Halifax Tourist Committee appears to have been formed by 1959 and consisted of about six to eight members including the mayor, aldermen, city staff, and members of the public. The committee appears to have met annually with local tourism businesses to discuss the city’s yearly promotional campaign. The committee was likely superceded by the Tourist and Convention Committee by 1964.

Custodial history

Series was transferred from NSARM to the archives in 2004 and accessioned in 2005. \n\n
