Biographical history
Harris Malcolm Blakeney (or Blakney) was born on July 17, 1888 to Gideon John Blakeney and Margaret Eve Mitchell. He married Annie E. Maskell on October 26, 1911 and they lived in West Jeddore. Harris worked as a lumberman and he and Annie had four children: Margaret Eudavilla (1914), Adella Pearl (c.1916), Olsen Malcolm (1921), and Annie (1922). Harris Blakeney died April 21, 1953.
Custodial history
Harris and Annie Blakeney were the grandparents of Max Dooks. Over the years these records made their way into the possession of Max and his wife Elaine and they later donated them to the Eastern Shore Archives along with records from the Mitchell / Hosking family.
Scope and content
Fonds consists of records created by the Blakeney family, mainly by Harris M. Blakeney. Included are financial records and records related to Harris M. Blakeney’s daughter, Adella.

General note
Harris Blakenety's daughter, Margaret Eudavilla Blakeney married Gerald Eldridge Dooks on August 20, 1932. Together they had three children: Harold (1932), Geraldine (1937), and Max Alexander (April 20, 1939). Max Alexander Dooks married Elaine Roxanna Hosking.
