Ernest and Willetta Raynard of Yarmouth County, donated the records to the Argyle Township Court House Archives in 1984. The Raynards had purchased the Hurlbert store in 1961.
Scope and content
Fonds consists of Hurlbert Day Books, 1899-1929; Cash Books, 1909-1938; Account Receivable ledger, 1909-1924; price book, 1905-1920; stock book, 1909-1911; credit books, 1916-1919; personal ledger, 1931; outstanding accounts book, 1928-1928; and journal of Joint Accounts, Mrs. C and Bernard Hurlbert, 1924-1926. Some overlap between Forman Hatfield General Store records and Hurlbert General Store records exist in earliest Day Book, 1899-1911.
