Item · June 26th to 27th, 1993
Part of Town of Bedford fonds
Item consists of a video recording of a re-enactment of the 84th Regiment and a "skirmish with his majesty's deluded rebels" at Fort Sackville. The 84th Regiment is the only Highland Regiment to be created outside of Scotland and was created as a devotion to the crown in the American Revolution of 1773, this according to one of the reenactors. This recording includes interviews with the reenactors, including Captain William Redden, Captain Ross MacInnis, as well as a depiction of the battle demonstration event, and soldiers being paid. Many of the reenactors interviewed provide historical and cultural information throughout the recording for things such as dress, minimum requirements for recruitment, weapons, first aid and songs. This recording also contains a performance by a military band (possibly Stadacona band) at DeWolf Park on Bedford's waterfront. 103-1R-1993-06
