Item consists of a centrepiece presented to Halifax by Hakodate, Japan. The centrepiece consists of three artificial bamboo poles on a styrofoam base that is covered in a plastic material resembling raffia. The bamboo poles are surrounded by artificial evergreen branches, artificial leaves, pink, white, and yellow artificial flowers, fabric decorations, and a paper kite with a traditional Japanese drawing of a man on it. 400-11-1-4.14

Item consists of a ceramic cup and saucer recovered from the site of Metro Park. The saucer is white with black floral and peacock designs. The cup is white with a black painting of children, a dog, horses, and a poem. Both items are mounted in a wood and plexiglass display case. A brass plate on the display case reads, "Artifacts Recovered at the Site of Metro Park, ca. 1830-1870, Presented to Mayor Peter Kelly, June 4, 2002." 400-11-1.030
Item consists of a ceremonial torch from the 2010 Olympic Winter Games held in Vancouver, British Columbia. The torch is predominantly white with a silver-coloured stripe going around the entire torch. The logo for the Vancouver Olympics is printed on either side. On one side of the silver-coloured stripe, there is a red maple leaf and the words "With glowing hearts / Des plus brillants exploits." 400-11-1.033

Item consists of two copies of a commemorative coin commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Halifax-Dartmouth ferry. One side of the coin depicts half of an old ferry and half of a modern ferry in front of a ship's wheel and the words: "250 years of service / 1752 2002." The other side of the coin depicts the logo of Halifax Regional Municipality and reads: "Commemorating / 250 years of ferry service / Halifax / Regional Municipality / Metro Transit." 400-2.009
