Sub-series consists of records created and/or accumulated by Halifax's Director of Civil Defence during the Second World War. Records include reports; incoming and outgoing correspondence with Halifax citizens and provincial, federal, and municipal civil servants and politicians; newspaper clippings; forms; pamphlets and posters; arm bands and badges; receipts; and the meeting minutes of related committees, such as the Halifax Civil Emergency Committee and Air Raid Precautions.
