File consists of a lecture given by Father Burke-Gaffney to a history class at Saint Mary's University on modern European history. The lecture was given twice, oncee to a class taught by Father McCarthy (on 6 November 1952) and once to a class taught by a Mr. Kennedy (25 October 1954). The lecture discusses four astronomers: Nicholas Copernicus, Tycho Brahe, John Kepler, and Galileo Galilei (mainly focusing on Copernicus). File consists of correspondence and documents related to Department of Engineering & Works projects on George Street including the construction of the Bank of Montreal Tower, sidewalk construction and street repairs, underground piping, property acquisition, street renumbering, and newspaper clippings. It includes a map showing George Street Hollis St to Harbour Drive Proposed Curb Alignment (1970) and the Site Plan of the Royal Bank Building for Durham Leaseholds Ltd. (Oct. 1966). It also includes 50 photographs of street excavation and tunnels on George Street; three photos of a truck driving on a new sidewalk near the Bank of Montreal Tower on George Street; three photos showing damaged sidewalk on Argyle Street (1970); one photo showing men working on the sidewalk adjacent to the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce on Granville Street (June 1968). 102-39B.1427
