Fonds consists of one hardbound journal which records the shipwrecks - Lily of the Valley, Seaman's Bride, Dashaway, I & W Pitts, Resident and Commissioner reported off the coast of Antigonish County, Nova Scotia. It lists the cargo which was lost and other items that were to be auctioned off. Reports on wrecks were filed so that insurance claims could be settled and salvage operations could begin. The Notary Public was responsible for securing the release of cargo for salvage.
