Part of Chezzetcook Historical Society fonds
Series consists of inventories of the Societys records and other holdings created by Society members, including Greg LeBlancs 2003 inventory, a list of oral history interview tapes by Society member and researcher Lena Ferguson, and a list of supplements to genealogies published by Society member Msgr. F. J. Melanson. Series also contains an e-mail printout and some notes relating to the donation of the fonds to the Eastern Shore Archives.

Part of Lydia Webber fonds
Series forms part of the Lydia Webber fonds and consists of several letters to Lydia Webber from her sons Harvey and Roy. Series also contains one letter from James Peter Webber (Lydia’s brother) which is addressed to Catherine (Dooks) Webber (Lydia’s mother). Series also consists of postcards, Christmas cards, and other greeting cards accumulated or created by Lydia Webber. Most of the cards are addressed to Lydia Webber and are from a variety of senders including her sons Odous, Harvey, and Roy. Some cards are also from her husband Albert, who sent them from Anticosti Island, Quebec and Souris, Prince Edward Island, possibly during fishing expeditions. Series also includes cards addressed to Albert Webber, sent by Lydia or other family members. In addition, three cards are addressed to Miss Ada Webber and one is addressed to “Harvie Webber” from “Aunt Ada”. Series also contains blank and unidentified postcards and greeting cards, as well as a number of calling cards from family members, relatives, and friends. Accession number: 2008.009
Correspondence
Series forms part of Eastern Shore Seaside Park System Citizen's Representative Committee fonds and consists of Committee correspondence. Most correspondence is between the Committee Chairman and provincial government officials, and relates to enquiries and concerns of the Committee on the planning and development of the Park, and the Committee's ongoing role therein. Series also contains correspondence between Committee members and other interested parties, and copies of correspondence between external parties on topics of interest to the Committee. Included is a small amount of copies of correspondence between the Association for Preservation of the Eastern Shore and other external parties. In addition, series contains other documents associated with the correspondence or of interest to the Committee, including meeting agendas and minutes; copies of a 1937 deed; and copies of documents related to the earlier Ship Harbour National Park proposal.

Part of Robert M. Ritcey fonds
Series forms part of the Robert M. Ritcey fonds and consists of the contents of two binders, each comprising volumes of a work entitled “Memories and family: collections by Robert M. Ritcey” (also entitled “Memories, family, and collections of Robert Milton Ritcey Sr.”). The work is a collection of research material related to the Ritcey family of Nova Scotia, as well as other families connected to the Ritceys, including the Newman, Williams, Bayers, and Gaetz families. The work comprises material created by Ritcey or collected from other sources, and includes text; family trees; excerpts and transcriptions from publications; records such as certificates and forms; correspondence; maps; drawings; and other material. All of the material from the binders is photocopied, with occasional annotations in pencil. Included in the work are drafts of Ritcey’s memoirs “The Place” and “The People”. Also included in the work are colour copies of photographs of Martinique Beach and Dun’s Beach. Ritcey began collating the material in 1986, although he had begun creating some of it in 1972 or earlier, and had been accumulating it for many years before then. Series also includes a letter to the Lake Charlotte Area Heritage Society related to the upcoming publication of part of his work, along with an annotated copy of an introduction to be included in the publication, and a copy of a map of the area around Martinique Beach in around 1937, hand drawn by Ritcey. In addition, series includes records related to the society’s targeting of specific markets, including bus tours, schools, cruise ships, and seniors. Series also includes records related to the society’s involvement in tourism and heritage networks and associations. Fonds consists of approximately 137 hours of oral history interviews conducted by Lena Ferguson. Most interviewees were residents of the Eastern Shore region of Halifax County, particularly the Chezzetcook area. Interview topics include genealogy, local industries, occupations, music, shipping, community life, traditions, and folklore. In addition to interviews, the creator recorded school reunions, concerts, weddings, and church anniversaries. Several paper transcripts are included as well as scrapbooks featuring articles written by Lena and other newspaper articles regarding the Chezzetcook area. 2019.014
