Budgets and Related Records
Subseries forms part of General Municipal Records series and consists of budgets indicating estimated municipal revenue and expenditure. Each folder (except 1976) also contains documents used in creating budgets, such as recommendations by the Education Assistance Committee for provincial financial assistance for a given fiscal year, residential and commercial tax assessments, tax exemptions, West Pubnico sewer debt charges, estimated costs of the Western Counties, Regional Library Board, and the operating budget of the Municipality of Argyle Housing Authority.
Child Welfare records
Subseries forms part of Overseers of the Poor, Welfare and Social Services Records series and consists of accounts for the maintenance of children whose settlement was in the Municipality by the Children's Aid Society, the Director of Child Welfare at the Nova Scotia Training School for Mentally Defective Children, the Interprovincial Home for Young Women, the Maritime Home for Girls, the Religious of the Good Shepard, St. Patrick's Home, the School for the Deaf, and the School for the Blind. Records related to the Children's Protection Act include: Notices Determining Settlement and Expenses of Apprehension of Neglected Child, orders for delivering neglected children to the Children's Aid Society, records related to the Child Welfare Act which include notice of hearings in the Provincial Magistrate's Court, and the Juvenile Court related to the provisions of the Act, transcriptions of such hearings, notices of apprehension, orders for wardship and notices of settlement, notices of hearings related to the Children's Services Act, and other related correspondence.

Subseries forms part of Overseers of the Poor and Welfare series and consists of correspondence regarding bonds of maintenance; statements of maintenance payments; requests for financial aid; orders for delivery of neglected children to the Children's Aid Society; and receipts for maintenance. Records have been arranged in chronological order.
Clerk's Files
Subseries forms part of General Municipal Records series and consists of the municipal office files. The files consist of minutes of council meetings, and arbitration meetings, correspondence, appointments and oaths of municipal officers, annual reports to the provincial treasurer and to the Department of Municipal Affairs, and numerous documents related to operations of the government and its activites with other individual and organizations. Subseries has been arranged in chronological order into annual groups. For the period 1953-1986, each group, records are alphabetically ordered. Records for 1928-1952 form one alphabetical sequence due to the small number of extant folders for that period. The architectural drawings consist of 21 drawings for the Nova Scotia Housing Commission senior citizens' rental housing, 10 of which related to Wedgeport, 11 to West Pubnico and 5 to Green Acres subdivision in Plymouth. The maps include a survey of the Tusket Industrial Park and the course of a 23,000 volt transmission line from Tusket to Lower Woods Harbour.
Correspondence
Series forms part of Municipality of the District of Argyle (1879-1926) fonds and consists of general correspondence of the office of the Municipality of Argyle related to the following: general correspondence to the Clerk, correspondence from Wardens and Councilors, correspondence from officials such as tax collectors and assessors, requests and letters from the Provincial Government, correspondence with associations such as the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities, correspondence with solicitors, requests for grants, and correspondence related to roads.

Subseries forms part of Public Health Records series and consists of correspondence between the Health Office and the Office of Public Charities regarding Mount Hope Asylum; Hospital for the Insane; Hospital for the Blind; various physicians; Department of Public Health; and correspondence with the Provincial Secretary.
Subseries forms part of General Municipal Records series and consists of minutes of all municipal council meetings and committee meetings. Also included are minutes of meetings held by other bodies relevant to the municipality's interests and were often attended by a Council member. Such committees include the Joint Social Service Committee of Yarmouth County, Yarmouth Arena Commission, Emergency Measures Organization, Airport Consultative Committee, Yarmouth-Argyle Transit, and the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities. Arrangement has been imposed by archivist. An Emergency Measures Organization minute book (1981-1987) is filed at the end of the 1981 files.

Series consists of the records of the Court House-Archives department during the period 2001-2011. Note: Records pertaining to the creation and construction of the New Archives facility, 2001-2006, will be found primarily in the records of the Argyle Municipality Historical & Genealogical Society.
