Also contains subscription lists, minutes of meetings, correspondence, petitions, and accounts concerning Pictou Academy; scientific notes and lectures given by McCulloch; speeches and sermons; theological and literary writings, including manuscripts of the letters of Mephibosheth Stepsure, "William", "Melville", "Auld Eppie's tales", and an unpublished novel; minutes of congregation meetings; and publications including newspapers and pamphlets accumulated by McCulloch and his family. Consists of day books and ledgers documenting Dr. Geddes' medical practice in Barrington and Yarmouth for over fifty years. Day books contain name of patient, cost of visit, and any treatments and prescriptions. Some entries provide detailed remarks on patients and medical conditions. Additional day book on microfilm, 1865-1866, also contains notes on the settlement of Barrington as well as medical and business accounts and notes. A few ledgers were probably accumulated while Geddes was a customs excise officer and contain a list of names, many of which are captains, freight, and passage. Also contains a ledger, 1830-1835, predominantly dealing with the settlement of the estate of R. Kelley and a ledger, 1838-1893, inscribed with the names Drs. James and Thomas Geddes.
