Administrative records consist of correspondence, reports, minutes, and planning material related to the present operations of the Fortress and the reconstruction process. Also included are documentary records related to the reconstruction and to interpretation. Research materials consist of primary (copies) and secondary material used to support the present interpretation and reconstruction planning of the Fortress. Primary materials are microfilmed copies of original materials which are housed in various archives including the Archives Nationales (France), National Archives of Canada, Archives Departementales (France), and the Public Record Office (London). The scope of these records is varied but all are related to the history of the French presence in Nova Scotia, especially in regards to the Fortress. Also included in the fonds is an index to and copies of Louisbourg Parish registers.
