The Town records consist of Cumberland County Court case records, which contain such items as summons and decisions, Municipal or Police Court Records, and Magistrates Court records. Records of the Town also include correspondence regarding the mayor, Returned Soldiers Employment Committee, Temperance, Amherst Fire Company, and communication with councilors and the mayor. Some Town financial records are also included in this fonds. Records regarding Donkin's positions with the North American Life Assurance Company and the Provident Mutual Association include policy information and correspondence. Some correspondence and other records related to his law practice are also included.

Collection consists of photographs, including panoramas, of Nova Scotia soldiers in World War I and scenes of the city of Halifax immediately after the Halifax Explosion on December 6, 1917. The images include wide angle views of the North End of the city, the shipyard or ‘graving yard’, and 5x7 images in 2 small albums of individual homes (some with people in doorways), stores, warehouse and a church. The photographs in the albums bear MacLaughlan’s name and a sequential number. Some also have the name of the property owner and street name written in pencil. The fonds also includes large group portraits, mostly of soldiers in the Canadian Expeditionary Force for World War I. Most soldiers are identified by name. 1983-284

Architectural drawings of 114 Victoria Street, Truro. A Municipally Registered Heritage Property of Art Moderne style with flat roof and curved window section. Designed in 1938 by Truro architect E. D. Vernon for William H. Faltenhine, founder of the "Craftsmen" building supply store which merged with Ontario company to form Halliday Craftsmen Limited in 1923. The house is unique in the town and the drawings show the front and south elevation, ground floor and second floor plans, plan of lot, west and east elevation, basement floor plan, cross section and front of fireplace. 87.2(iii) a & b
