An accompanying card reads: "HAGOITA - A Japanese badminton racket. Japanese badminton is called HANETSUKI, and is traditionally played around New Year's. Halifax-Hakodate, Sister Cities, 25th Anniversary." On the back of the racquet is written, "Sakai, 1985." The racket was given as a gift on July 9, 1988. 102-145-1.6

An accompanying card reads: "From this music box you can hear the melody of 'Hakodate's Song of Praise' (Composed by Mr. Ryohei Hirose). In 1973 this song was first performed, since then it has been sung and become popular with all the citizens because it expresses the pride of living in Hakodate and the vitality of citizens who work hard for a bright future.
