Item consists of a copy of a photograph of the A.M. Smith building and wharf, located on Lower Water St between Sackville and Prince streets. The photograph shows barrels on the docks, a large docked ship, a truck, a horse-drawn carriage being loaded with barrels, and hand-carts. A.M. Smith was a cooperage business, and later was involved with the importation of fishery salt and the exportation of salted fish. 102-104-E-7-5-77

Buckingham Street formed part of the area which was demolished to accommodate development of the Scotia Square complex and the Cogswell Interchange. Item consists of an image of the Halifax waterfront taken from the harbour. The photograph shows the Dartmouth Ferry dock on the left and the Imperial Oil wharf on the right. The back of a tavern (on Lower Water St.?), Scotia Flour & [Feed] Co. Ltd., and the Morse's Teas building are all discernable in the photograph. Duke St. and Citadel Hill are in the distance 102-105-1.38

Item consists of an aerial photograph that depicts the Central Redevelopment Area after much of it had been razed (See file 102-39-1-716 for street-level images of this area prior to demolition). This is the site where Scotia Square was later constructed. This aerial looks West with the Pentagon Building and Hollis St. on the lower right, Duke St. and Rannie Dr. on the left, and Cornwallis in the top right of the photograph.
