File consists of an image of Cooper's Trailer Courts taken from the back deck of the bath houses, looking down MacIntosh St. toward the harbour. The trailers appear to be occupied given that that doors and windows are open and a tricycle is sitting beside one of them. A few houses on MacIntosh can be seen in the background, as can housing developments on the other side of the harbour. 102-39-1-986
File · 5/13/1958
Part of City of Halifax fonds
File consists of images of the demolition (or renovation?) of one of the buildings on Herbert (known as Bert) Cooper's property, perhaps part of the trailer park, which is isn't listed in the directory after 1957. There is no negative for the first print (173.1), but there are two additional negatives from this same site, and likely same time, that depict the same crew at work. In the foreground of 173.3 and 174.4 is a surveyor from the Works Department (last name Gates, perhaps) wearing a hat and smoking a cigarette. 102-39-1-173

Part of City of Halifax fonds
File consists of several views of Herbert (known as Bert) Cooper's pool and bath houses, which appear derelict. According to the building inspector's captions on the back of the prints, images 174.1-174.2 and 174.5-174.7 show the front elevation of the building and the pool; 174.3 and 174.8-174.11 show the rear elevation of the building; and 174.12 shows the east elevation. Image 174.4 is taken from the south-east corner of the building and overlooks what appears to be a lot for heavy machinery with houses in the distance. See file 102-39-1-785 for earlier images of Cooper's Pool, one of which pictures the pool when it was still operational. According to City Council minutes from Sept. 13, 1962, Bert Cooper offered to sell his pool to the city, and his offer was then referred to the Recreation and Playgrounds Commission for a "report on the feasibility of acquiring the site for other purposes" (see Council Minutes from Sept. 13, 1962 in file 102-1a). Cooper's Pool isn't listed in the directory after 1963. 102-39-1-174
