The materials in the subseries include a report "The Black Employment Program in Nova Scotia", text of debates in the legislature, issues of "Panorama" (the newspaper for staff of Employment and Immigration Canada), the test of a speech by Provincial NDP leader Alexa McDonough to the graduating class of Charles P. Subseries consists of 11 files, 9 of which are news clippings, and two which contain other resource material (publications, brochures, speeches, photographic negatives, and other documents). All of the files document the history of Africville in Halifax, many of the news clippings detail reunions of residents in the 1980s and 1990s, demands for compensation, protests (especially by the Carvery brothers), apologies from the Halifax mayor over the treatment of residents, among other topics.
