Part of Lydia Webber fonds
Series forms part of the Lydia Webber fonds and consists of several letters to Lydia Webber from her sons Harvey and Roy. Series also contains one letter from James Peter Webber (Lydia’s brother) which is addressed to Catherine (Dooks) Webber (Lydia’s mother). Series also consists of postcards, Christmas cards, and other greeting cards accumulated or created by Lydia Webber. Most of the cards are addressed to Lydia Webber and are from a variety of senders including her sons Odous, Harvey, and Roy. Some cards are also from her husband Albert, who sent them from Anticosti Island, Quebec and Souris, Prince Edward Island, possibly during fishing expeditions. Series also includes cards addressed to Albert Webber, sent by Lydia or other family members. In addition, three cards are addressed to Miss Ada Webber and one is addressed to “Harvie Webber” from “Aunt Ada”. Series also contains blank and unidentified postcards and greeting cards, as well as a number of calling cards from family members, relatives, and friends. Accession number: 2008.009

Series forms part of Anna Barbara Webber family fonds and consists of records related to historical and genealogical research undertaken by Webber family members. Series includes correspondence, notes, family trees, and a copy of an article. Series also includes the front and back covers and title page of a bible which was given to Anna Barbara Webber by her sister Lily in 1909. On the bible's covers are recorded the birth, baptism and confirmation dates of Allen, Frances, and Blois Webber, as well as the date of Frances Webber's marriage to Douglas Robson. Fonds consists of financial records belonging to William Gaetz including insurance papers, receipts, correspondence, documents related to the estate of Josephine Gaetz, and military pension information. Also included are records related to Gaetz’s time spent serving in WWI, correspondence with soldiers during WWII, records related to Gaetz’s membership in the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and the Musquodoboit Harbour United Church for which Gaetz acted as treasurer. Church records include financial papers and correspondence, account books, receipts, religious education material, meeting minutes, photographs, insurance documents, and other material. Fonds also includes records pertaining to electoral districts and voters as Gaetz was one of the revisors of the voter lists for his district. Series forms part of Laura F. Stoddard family fonds and consists of eleven postcards, a Christmas card, and several notes to Hannah, Walter, and Laura Stoddard from various correspondents and from all over the world including Italy, the United States, and Britain. Series also contains ten letters to Walter and Hannah Stoddard from Reverend James Anderson including nine prayer cards. In addition there are two military Christmas cards from 1918 to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stoddard including one from a Private Duncan near [Brussels] and one from France from N. Webber of the Canadian Forestry Corps, 70th Co. Overseas. There is also one letter to Mrs. Hannah Stoddard from the Imperial War Graves Commission dated 1923 concerning the erection of a headstone, correspondence to Hannah Stoddard from the Treasury Department, Bureau of War Risk Insurance concerning the life insurance of Frank Cecil Stoddard who was enlisted in the US army; and a wreath order form and card sent to Mrs. W. E. Stoddard from the War Graves Commission. Series also includes a number of birth and wedding announcements as well as a letter to Walter Stoddard from his brother Dr. T. A. Stoddard discussing the purchase of land to establish a muskrat, mink, and fox fur farm. There is also a booklet on raising muskrats, which is referenced in the letter. Accession number: 2013.010

Part of Grace (Williams) Forsythe fonds
Series forms part of the Grace (Williams) Forsythe fonds and consists of records related to Alexander ‘Sandy’ and Cora (Harpell) Myers, who was the sister of Grace’s mother. Cora was born on January 26, 1896 in West Jeddore and became a teacher in the early 1900s. She and her husband Sandy (1893-1957) owned the Salmon River House where Grace lived for several years following her retirement. A note found among the records indicates that they were used by Grace to help create the publications produced by the Marine Highway Historical Society. The series includes a photograph of Cora Harpell’s class at Ostrea Lake School in 1915 with the names of the students; a scrapbook containing clippings of songs; stories; and the prize winners of a matrimonial letter contest featuring Cora’s entry, No Fake Gentleman. Also included are various clippings regarding her school in Ostrea Lake; her graduating class from the Provincial Normal College in 1914; as well as handwritten poems and stories. Series also includes the lyrics to the Normal College school song, an application for a teacher’s license in 1912 that was rejected because she was too young, and a teacher’s license issued in 1914, as well as an earlier letter from a friend in1911. Cora died in Musquodoboit Harbour on February 24, 1995 at the age of 99. Series also contains receipts including postal and remitters’ receipts, invoices, ration forms and coupons, product labels, local business letterhead and advertisements, coupons, tax assessments, a tax notice, and enumeration records. Also included is correspondence to Sandy Myers from people coming to Salmon River House, a Christmas card from Arnold Logan, a Guide’s License, and an order form for a vest. Consists of records created and accumulated by Grace Edith Forsythe primarily during her career as an educator and as a result of her involvement with the Marine Highway Historical Society, including records related to her teaching career, photographs, and material related to local history. Also included are publications produced by the Marine Highway Historical Society as well as layouts and preliminary copies. Contents also include scrapbooks, correspondence, advertisements, recipes, and material related to the Red Cross Society. In addition, fonds includes records acquired by Grace Forsythe and related to her aunt and uncle Cora (Harpell) and Sandy Myers, who owned the Salmon River House and with whom Grace lived for a time. Mitchell, Hosking family fonds and consists of records related to the establishment of Murray Harbour Black and Silver Fox Ranching Company, Limited, a fox farming enterprise at Murray Harbour, Prince Edward Island. W.M.O. Mitchell became an investor in the business, which was short-lived. Series includes correspondence, brochures, financial updates, shareholder meeting notices, and other records. Correspondence is primarily between Mitchell and E. Sullivan, President of Gunn & Co. Limited, who was a founding shareholder in the company. Series also includes receipts and correspondence related to Mitchell’s purchase of stocks in the Wilden Silver Black Fox Company, Limited, which was possibly affiliated to the Murray Harbour company.
