Fonds consists of ledgers pertaining to the operation of Macdonald Garage and Equipment, Sherbrooke (1927-1951), one accounts ledger for the 19th-century Sherbrooke merchant Alexander Macdonald that lists the names of numerous St. Mary's area residents along with their occupation, goods purchased, and payments made, either cash or in-kind (ca. 1850-1860). Reports, files, meeting minutes, and correspondence relating to the development of Sherbrooke Village Restoration and the work of the Sherbrooke Restoration Commission. Reports, files, meeting minutes, and correspondence relating to the work of the St. Mary's Development Association. Reports and correspondence relating to upgrading and training programs at St. Mary's Rural High School (1968-1970). Meeting minutes of first home and school association (1935-1937). Fonds consists of a considerable number of letters from Robert Ryan to his family while serving over-seas. Fonds also consists of James Ryan's militia records, business records, personal correspondence and financial records; Mary Josephine's correspondence; records regarding Walter Ryan's militia career, business records, personal records, and articles written by Walter. Fonds also contains family photographs, newspaper clippings regarding Walter and his father James, documents regarding James' career as mayor and town councillor, records and photographs of the Kings Troops Calvary (militia), and business correspondence. The majority of the correspondence is photocopies, however there are some original documents created from 1835-1985.
Lena Ferguson fonds

Fonds consists of approximately 137 hours of oral history interviews conducted by Lena Ferguson. Most interviewees were residents of the Eastern Shore region of Halifax County, particularly the Chezzetcook area. Interview topics include genealogy, local industries, occupations, music, shipping, community life, traditions, and folklore. In addition to interviews, the creator recorded school reunions, concerts, weddings, and church anniversaries. Several paper transcripts are included as well as scrapbooks featuring articles written by Lena and other newspaper articles regarding the Chezzetcook area. 2019.014
