This item is a black and white photographic print of Gertrude [?], taken by Harry J. Moss, Halifax, NS. It is addressed to Florine Smith. The back reads: "Florine, remember the good old times we had in the college by the sea and the walks down to green bank. Remember dear Mr. Gordon, and the lovely harmony lessons we had together. Oh! The collection contains the textual, graphic, and audio records of the oral history project. Twelve people from the Truro area were interviewed and the collection is arranged with a series for each interviewee. Audio cassettes and one videotape were recorded during the interviews. Included with each audio cassette is a transcription and a journal written by the student about their experience. Digital videodiscs were later created in 2013 from the audio cassettes for preservation of the recordings. 95.88.1 - 12

The letters recount Thompson's years in Halifax as a labourer and labour activist and reveal an ongoing discussion between Bell and Thompson regarding labour issues and labour history.
