Alice M. Hagen fonds

Fonds consists of a disassembled scrapbook containing photographs, textual documents, ephemera, and grey literature documenting the artistic career of Alice Hagen. In addition, there are records touching on Hagen’s exhibitions, her study of Native pottery designs, and a Mount Saint Vincent bursary established in her honour. In addition, there is a reference binder, assembled by staff of the Mahone Bay Museum, which includes original photographs, research notes, and photocopies of clippings, articles, exhibition catalogues, and some notes by Hagen. Fonds consists of two line drawings by Ben S. Verburgh of the schooner Oressa Belle and twelve drawings by George H. Smeltzer, relating to several vessels: a Royal Barge, a Mussel Harvester, a Tancook Whaler, and a Coastal Tern Schooner. The Tancook Whaler drawings include lines, a construction sheet, sail plans, and details of the rudder and centerboard. MBMS-45
