Series also includes correspondence related to tourism promotion, banquets and other events which the board hosted or participated in, as well as correspondence with other organizations in which the board held membership including the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, the Maritime Provinces Board of Trade, and the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council. Consists of records created and accumulated by Grace Edith Forsythe primarily during her career as an educator and as a result of her involvement with the Marine Highway Historical Society, including records related to her teaching career, photographs, and material related to local history. Also included are publications produced by the Marine Highway Historical Society as well as layouts and preliminary copies. Contents also include scrapbooks, correspondence, advertisements, recipes, and material related to the Red Cross Society. In addition, fonds includes records acquired by Grace Forsythe and related to her aunt and uncle Cora (Harpell) and Sandy Myers, who owned the Salmon River House and with whom Grace lived for a time. Hosking General Store fonds and consists of correspondence related to the Store, including a letter from a customer to Mildred Hosking, and a letter to Garth Hosking from the Employment Insurance Commission. Series also includes sets of blank letterheads and invoices in W.M.O. Mitchell’s name from the 1910s. Also included in the series is a 1941 license to sell gasoline issued to W.M.O. Mitchell. Series also includes blank letterheads from Hosking’s Garage. In addition, series includes a 1904 list of voters from the number 27 polling district of Halifax County.
