Fonds consists of financial journals of the Astor Theatre Ltd. Journals recorded what movie played, dates and daily income from individual movies. Also recorded were where the film or trailer came from or where it was headed and the expressage fees. Staff salaries were also recorded. The theatre employed a film operator, cashier, usher, doorman and a janitor. It also payed for the services of a president and a managing director. Also included one day book/ledger (1916-1918, 1928-1931) which records financial transaction of the Theatre in lesser detail than the journals. However this book includes some personal notations by S.M. Bartling
