Shipping registers and research cards of Trevor Bebb
Collection
The accession contains index cards originally stored in 10 small plastic boxes and 1 long cardboard box. The cards were created by Trevor Bebb and contain entries from various shipping registers. The cards describe vessels, captains, and sailors. The accession also contains two oversized ledgers from the nineteenth century and several manuscript sheets of poetry. One plastic box was empty when it entered the archives. MS-4-177.2013-053
Shipping Reference Collection
Collection
The Shipping Reference Collection incorporates virtually all miscellanous shipping records and reference material that were accessioned as part of "MS-8-Ref." A large portion of the collection consists of reference files on various vessels and shipping lines. A card-catalogue index known as "Master and Mates" provides references to microfilmed vessel papers, trade records, registers, and other related materials. The collection also includes photographs, slides, and published materials such as the Lloyd's Register of Ships. Notes of Mrs. Gordon Cowan on the Rettie family of Truro, Nova Scotia

File consists of genealogical notes on the Rettie family of Truro, Nova Scotia, with a particular focus on Captain Alexander Rose Rettie and the wreck of his vessel "Forest Chief." Lockeport Historical Collection

Collection contains documents relating to the mercantile and shipping activities of William McMillan, McMillan was active in the business between 1893 and the early 1930's. Records include receipts, invoices and other material from other merchants he purchased or sold to, correspondence regarding the shipping of those goods, papers regarding the vessels he owned or contracted to sail the material to different parts of the world and correspondence from individuals who ran the ships. Also included are telegram notices, personal correspondence and other material. This collection also contains material from the Locke Family, the Harding Family, all in Lockeport, Nova Scotia. It also contains documents from different individuals in the town of Lockeport. Part of the material included in this collection is the research of Trevor Bebb. He was working on the shipping history of Lockeport and the surrounding areas and as such has collected a great deal of material. Included in his papers are research notes, photocopies of shipping and customs records, diaries and logs, and printed material. MS-4-177
