Many papers concern this purchase of the John Hugh and Jessie MacDonald property in Sherbrooke, NS including some deed paperwork. This folder holds personal papers of the Lomas family in Sherbrooke, NS, from 1990- 2007, including personal correspondence, notice of Al and Aleah's fiftieth wedding anniversary (1999) and colourful well wishes, invitation to Aleah Lomas Anderson wedding to Murray Anderson (2005), program from ceremony awarding Al the Canada 125 Commemorative Medal (1993), mailing list for Trade Commissioner Service Centenary (1894-1994) including Al, get well card hand-made by granddaughter Mary, copy of letter sent by Don Loney to thank Deputy Chief of 1st Nations Congress for his activist work in support of native Canadians (1990), letter from Senator Terry M. Mercer congratulating Aleah on receiving the Long Time Service award from the Nova Scotia Liberal Party (2004), wedding invitation (2007), Order for the Burial of the Dead for Al (2000). Al certificate of Life Membership in St. Mary’s River Association (1994), and a certificate from MLA Ray White congratulating the Sherbrooke Branch Library on its official opening 21 September 1995. Some documents hand-written by Al are likely from this era, specifically information about local sites of interest with driving instructions that begin “Northwest Arm Brook”, an essay about Sherbrooke in February and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #56 alongside a creative essay about “The Christmas Butterfly”, envelope from Bob McQuinn who went to school with Al (2007) and photographs of Bob’s school class (with boy that Aleah thought might be Al "Sonny" Lomas) and a Christmas party with Al (1944). 2022.006, Ser. 16, #11
