Fonds consists of typewritten notes documenting Smith's genealogical research of over 1600 Queens County families. Notes may contain only birth and death dates and parentage of a particular individual, or may include additional information on the family's background and activities. Arranged alphabetically by surname. Fonds also contains typed excerpts from the newspaper Liverpool Advance which includes mention of vessels and privateers in Liverpool between 1810 and 1904 and general news between 1886 and 1912. Phyllis R. Blakeley fonds

Fonds consists of records created and accumulated by Blakeley in the course of her career, including her activities as historian and archivist, her research and publications, and involvement with various professional and special interest organizations. Fonds contains research material such as notes, clippings, photocopies of documents, correspondence, draft chapters of books, and rough drafts of articles and speeches, particularly dealing with Nova Scotia history, including Halifax, the United Empire Loyalists, Samuel Cunard, and biographies for the Dictionary of Canadian Biography. Fonds also contains incoming and outgoing correspondence concerning archives business, her publications and personal activities, personal documents, diaries, travel journals, programs, pamphlets and other ephemera, certificates, genealogical notes on the Blakeley family and others, various records relating to Blakeley's involvement with Heritage Trust of Nova Scotia, local history committee of the Canadian Historical Association, as well as records relating to her sister Shirley Blakeley. Photographs are found among the textual records, several of which were used in her publications. Karen Oxley

Consists of material relating to Oxley's professional musical career. Includes production, rehearsal, and dubbed audio reel recordings of programs such as Singalong Jubilee, as well as Music Hop - Frank's Bandstand, Let's Go, and an episode of Birt's Bandstand, 1961. Other recordings accumulated by Oxley feature the Hants East Regional High School band, Les Troubadours, The Sable Island Chorale, Anne Murray and others in concert in Charlottetown, J. Chalmers Doane of the Halifax District School Board, transcriptions done for CBC, and interviews with, or about, Karen Oxley. James Boyle Uniacke

MacLean, Sinclair family

Consists of eight scrapbooks, correspondence, and other records created, accumulated, and used by three generations of the MacLean and Sinclair families, including John MacLean, his grandson Rev. Dr. A. MacLean Sinclair and great-grandson, Rev. Dr. D.M. Sinclair. Scrapbooks were compiled by A. MacLean Sinclair and son D.M. Sinclair, late 1800s-1973, and contain newspaper clippings and articles relating to history and events in Scotland and Pictou County, articles written by both Sinclairs, obituaries of clergy and early settlers, genealogical notes and charts, Gaelic poems, and ephemera. Correspondence primarily consists of letters written to A. MacLean Sinclair concerning genealogy and writing activities, 1866-1906, although some letters contain personal and community news and parish affairs. Also includes sixteen bound volumes, ca. 1768, 1815-1891, containing Gaelic poems, songs, hymns, psalms, historical sketches and grammar, most of which were accumulated by John MacLean in Scotland and Nova Scotia. Aside from MacLean's poems and hymns, there are several volumes of writings or translations by Dr. Hector MacLean of Mull, Scotland, Rev. Duncan Black Blair and Rev. James MacGregor of Pictou Co., and one volume by Dr. MacKintosh MacKay including an essay on the "Loss of Gaelic". All of John MacLean's poems together with the poems in Dr. Hector MacLean's manuscript given to him in 1818, and others, were later published by A. MacLean Sinclair. Other records included are an account book kept by John MacLean, ca. 1815-1854, assorted poems and songs, financial statements, newspaper clippings and articles, notes, printed material, a few letters and other items relating to family members Christy MacLean Sinclair and Isabella Black MacLean, the Clan MacLean Association, and a minute book of the Strathbeg Reading Society, 1866-1869. Consists of records mainly created and accumulated by the corporation during its operations in Nova Scotia. Contains extensive upper management correspondence (13 top company officers), including that of Peter Munk, the company co-founder and president, and other top officers such as the vice-president, general manager, and controller, as well as lesser officials such as the purchasing director, engineer, and marketing and sales manager. Some of these files include annual and other major reports, minutes of director's meetings, policy manuals and official financial statements. There are also separate sections consisting of financial statements and other major corporate records such as annual reports, procedural manuals, and legal agreements, as well as marketing files (including product and promotional photographs and literature), and engineering department records such as quality control manuals and product blueprints. Fonds consists of records documenting Comeau's political activities, including constituency files, financial records, correspondence and memoranda, mainly from Comeau's executive assistant Charles Gaudet, and newspaper clippings. Records relate to issues such as agriculture and fishing. Fonds also contains briefs, correspondence, minutes of board meetings, reports, and other items concerning discussions on the future of College Saint-Anne, 1971-1975. Also includes publicity photographs of ceremonies and presentations, several involving College Saint-Anne, the Canadian destroyer ship, 283 Algonquin, and some portraits of Comeau, mostly taken by professional photographers as well as the Nova Scotia Communications and Information Centre. Fonds consists of correspondence received by Verna (Long) Payne from family and friends in Nova Scotia, the United States, and abroad. Letters discuss personal and family news and describe the daily routine and activities of women in rural Nova Scotia. Numerous letters from her brothers Elmore and Shane Long as well as close friend T.W. (Tom) Howe describe the reflections and daily life of men training and serving in the Canadian Army at home and overseas during the Second World War. Mostly arranged chronologically.
