Fonds consists of one accounts book for the Crows Nest Mining Co. which details accounts for multiple enterprises engaged in at the Crows Nest mine site, including: mine, plant, boarding house, stables, mill, house, hotel. Also included are accounts for lumber, fuel, wages, and various suppliers from Sherbrooke, Antigonish, and Halifax. Accounts book lists the names of many people and businesses local to the St. Mary's region. 2020.053

Item consists of a poem written by Burns Marks about an accident in the Moose River mine in which three Toronto men went into the mine and were trapped by a cave in. Local miners launched a rescue effort and two of the men were saved, however one died in the mine. Accession number: 2013.063

Fonds consists of approximately 137 hours of oral history interviews conducted by Lena Ferguson. Most interviewees were residents of the Eastern Shore region of Halifax County, particularly the Chezzetcook area. Interview topics include genealogy, local industries, occupations, music, shipping, community life, traditions, and folklore. In addition to interviews, the creator recorded school reunions, concerts, weddings, and church anniversaries. Several paper transcripts are included as well as scrapbooks featuring articles written by Lena and other newspaper articles regarding the Chezzetcook area. 2019.014
