Research material
Series forms part of Association for Preservation of the Eastern Shore fonds and consists of records which are not directly related to Association activities, and generally not created by Association members, but which pertain to topics of interest to the Association. Series includes correspondence, publications, speech notes, a film transcript, Senate debates, bills, and proceedings, additional material related to Byways and Special Places, a variety of research on National Parks and other background information. Series also includes material, mainly clippings, related to the conflict surrounding expropriation of land at Kouchibouguac National Park in New Brunswick. In addition, series contains a comprehensive study of District 18, Halifax County in 1972 conducted by local residents following Hurricane Beth which caused damage to the pulp mill in Sheet Harbour, resulting in the need to establish a new industry in the area. The goal of the study was to determine what industries were feasible for the area with the resources that were available.
