Fonds consists of approximately 137 hours of oral history interviews conducted by Lena Ferguson. Most interviewees were residents of the Eastern Shore region of Halifax County, particularly the Chezzetcook area. Interview topics include genealogy, local industries, occupations, music, shipping, community life, traditions, and folklore. In addition to interviews, the creator recorded school reunions, concerts, weddings, and church anniversaries. Several paper transcripts are included as well as scrapbooks featuring articles written by Lena and other newspaper articles regarding the Chezzetcook area. 2019.014

Series forms part of the Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital fonds and consists of copies of a 1945 bill featuring an act to incorporate the War Memorial Hospital, Musquodoboit Harbour, N.S. and a 1946 bill featuring an amendment to the previous bill with the purpose of changing the name of the hospital to the Twin Oaks War Memorial Hospital. Also included is a statement of the hospital’s mission, the agreement made between the Canadian Red Cross Society, the Musquodoboit Harbour branch of the Canadian Red Cross, and Twin Oaks War Memorial Hospital Inc. in 1950; the Red Cross Outpost Hospital Policy, and a list of rules and regulations for Red Cross nursing personnel.
