The fonds consists of 30 cm of administrative records, including annual reports, minutes, financial statements, and an additional 30 cm of scrapbooks and guestbooks that demonstrate the activities of the Truro Art Society from 1969 - 1999. Series forms part of the Chezzetcook Historical Society fonds and consists of records relating to activities and events which the Society and its members organized or participated in, including public displays of historical artifacts, society parties, the dedication of a local war memorial, and the Chezzetcook Acadian celebrations of 2004. Series contains guest books, photographs of events, programs, brochures, correspondence, notes, an article, a newsletter, a videocassette, and other material. Series also contains entries in two competitions organized by the society for local grade six and seven students; one for a design for the Society’s seal and one for a 500-word essay on a local historical topic. In addition, series includes correspondence, clippings and other material related to society members’ involvement in an early 1980s movement to prevent the government from running Highway 107 through the Chezzetcook Marshes.

Series forms part of the Annabel (Siteman) Ells fonds and consists of information from church records and vital statistics gathered by Annabel Ells during the course of her research. Included are marriage, birth, and death records, registers, and cemetery listings from various churches and parishes. Records include parish registers from St. Matthew’s and the parishes of Ship Harbour and Sheet Harbour, historical notes from St. George’s Church in Halifax, notes from The Presbyterian Witness, records related to the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts, sketches of saints’ lives, letters and journal extracts of Bishop Charles Inglis, and other religious records. Also included is a census of Loyalist settlers at Ship Harbour who came with Capt. Thomas Green, various obituaries, a memorial of Henry Siteman, and correspondence between the Bishop of Nova Scotia and Rev. John Stevenson. Accession number: 2013.066

The fonds consists of records accumulated by Annabel (Siteman) Ells during the course of her research on the area of Ship Harbour and the families who lived there as well as personal records created and accumulated throughout her lifetime. The fonds includes a wide variety of records such as land related documents, wills, Loyalist petitions, census information, court papers, church registers and vital statistics including marriage, birth, and death records; school papers, genealogies, clippings and notes taken from various newspapers and periodicals, photographs and negatives, correspondence, postcards, and diaries. Lena Ferguson fonds

Fonds consists of approximately 137 hours of oral history interviews conducted by Lena Ferguson. Most interviewees were residents of the Eastern Shore region of Halifax County, particularly the Chezzetcook area. Interview topics include genealogy, local industries, occupations, music, shipping, community life, traditions, and folklore. In addition to interviews, the creator recorded school reunions, concerts, weddings, and church anniversaries. Several paper transcripts are included as well as scrapbooks featuring articles written by Lena and other newspaper articles regarding the Chezzetcook area. 2019.014
