Series forms part of the G. J. Leslie General Merchandise fonds and consists of loose pages from early account books as well as eighteen day books and three large ledger books documenting customer accounts and orders of goods. Some of the large ledger books contain loose receipts and order forms from suppliers and customers from various years. Also included are notes regarding the ledgers, some in correspondence with Robert Kim Stevens in 1998. The notes include personal background information on many of the people listed in the ledgers. Fonds consists primarily of records created and accumulated by Claude Webber’s parents, Leonard Stanley and Greta (Lewis) Webber as well as Claude’s aunt, Mrs. Alexander ‘Sandy’ Webber (Ada Parker). Greta and Ada Webber were both involved with the Upper Lakeville Ladies' Sewing Guild. Fonds also consists of Leonard Webber’s military records from World War I, the account books and receipts of the Ladies' Sewing Guild, and other invoices and receipts. Accession number 2013.037

Series forms part of the Robert A. Logan fonds and consists primarily of catalogues, pamphlets, brochures, and instruction manuals as well as correspondence related to various equipment that Logan was interested in purchasing or had purchased. Also included are invoices, receipts, and notes. The equipment was likely for use in Logan's mining operations. Also included are maps, copies of newspaper clippings related to Logan searching for treasure, lists of supplies needed to feed eight men during a ten week expedition, and other materials. 2010.006

Series forms part of Chezzetcook Historical Society fonds and consists of records of the Society's financial transactions, including receipts, accounts, budgets, reports, chequebooks, and bankbooks. Series also includes tax forms and legal documents relating to the Society's legal status as a tax-free charity, as well as correspondence and certificates relating to the Society's membership in associations such as the Federation of Museums, Heritage and Historical Societies of Nova Scotia (later known as the Federation of Nova Scotian Heritage) and the Heritage Trust of Nova Scotia. In addition, series includes forms, correspondence and other records related to applications by the Society for government grants.

Part of Garth M. Hosking General Store fonds
Series forms part of Garth M. Hosking General Store fonds and consists of account books, day books, expense books, day book indexes, and other ledgers. Account books list the names of people who had credit at the store, their daily purchases and the frequency of their payments on account. Day books record daily sales at the store, and whether the sales were paid or put on account. Expense books record payments made to each supplier and a list of general expenses such as telephone, freight and postage. A summary list of annual expenses follows at the end of each year. The early expense books from the 1890s sketch out expenses and also serve partially as account books. Day book indexes record the names of individuals receiving credit and the corresponding page number in the account books. However, the indexes are not labelled or dated, so some appear not to correspond to account books in the fonds. The two ledgers record monthly expenses for the store from 1960-66. Some books record expenses for Hosking’s Garage. Accession number: 2003.011
